Course 1: Alcohol SBI Training for the Healthcare Professional

This course has been designed for the healthcare professional in the provision of alcohol screening and brief intervention (aSBI), sometimes also referred to as SBIRT when referral to treatment is included, in the practice setting. The course lessons include alcohol SBI educational materials, followed by a series of exposures to the SBI  encounter. Participants begin by watching a recording of an aSBI encounter, then practice the skills themselves using scripted options in two guided brief interventions with virtual patients.

 

Course 2: The Role of the Obstetrician-Gynecologist in the Prevention of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders

This course has been designed for the obstetrician/ gynecologist in their care of women and the prevention of alcohol-exposed pregnancies and conditions under the umbrella term fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD).

 

MOC Credit: The ABOG MOC standards now allow participation in ABOG-approved Simulation Courses to meet the annual Improvement in Medical Practice (Part IV) MOCrequirement. This course has been approved to meet ABOG  improvement in Medical Practice requirements for 2017.
