The Role of the Social Worker in Preventing, Identifying, and Treating FASD
This course has been designed for the social worker in working with individuals and families in the prevention, identification and treatment of those individuals with any of the diagnoses under the umbrella term, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.
At the completion of this course, the learner will:
- Be able to define Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders
- Understand the micro and macro roles of the social worker in the care of those with FASD
- Understand intervention and treatments for those living with FASD
- Understand how to use SBIRT to reduce alcohol-exposed pregnancies
